Vertu Motorcycles Aftersales/Servicing FAQ

How often should you service your motorbike?

Broadly speaking, you should aim to get your motorbike serviced once a year. However, if you cover a high volume of miles, it may be beneficial to get your motorcycle serviced every six months.

Manufacturers have different recommended service intervals for their models, so it's always best to check your owner's manual for the specific recommendations for your motorbike.

What does a full bike service include?

There are a number of options when it comes to motorcycle servicing, these usually include: a full service, an interim service, or in some cases, a major service.

One of the most common types is the full service. This is a comprehensive inspection of your bike, that includes:

  • Engine check
  • Brake check
  • Chassis check
  • Tyre check
  • Suspension check
  • Oil and filter change
  • Road test

How often should you change motorcycle oil?

This will depend on a number of factors, such as the bike you have and how frequently you ride it. It's not recommended that you change your oil any more frequently than you have your motorcycle serviced. We advise to travel no more than 6,000 miles without changing it.

When you get your motorcycle serviced at Vertu Motorcycles, we will check your fluids and top them up for you.

How long does a motorcycle service take?

Typically, you can expect a motorcycle service to take around two and a half hours to complete. However, if any issues are identified during the service, our technicians will require more time to work on these. Don't worry though - if any problems are detected, we will contact you to discuss your options before any additional work is carried out.

If you would like to wait whilst we work on your motorcycle, we have comfortable customer areas with complimentary Wi-Fi, tea, and coffee available.

How much is a motorcycle service?

The cost of your service will vary depending on the type of motorcycle, and what kind service you require.

At Vertu Motorcycles, we provide transparent pricing which means all work will be completed as agreed, and invoices will always match quoted prices.

If you would like more information on the cost of motorcycle servicing, simply contact your local dealership and a member of our team will be able to help.

How long does a motorcycle MOT take?

A motorbike MOT should take around forty minutes to complete.

We have comfortable customer lounges, with complimentary Wi-Fi and hot drinks, if you would like to wait whilst your motorbike is in our workshop.
