Matt Neal to shake off hand injury for Honda Racing Team

Honda Racing Team driver Matt Neal has overcome a hand injury and is raring to go in hid bid to climb back to the top of the Touring Car Championship.

This weekend sees Neal and team-mate Gordon Shedden in action at Knockhill in Scotland as the race for the 2011 Dunlop MSA crown heats up.

Despite resting the injured hand, Neal will race through the pain barrier after fracturing a bone during a martial arts exam.

"I am sure that once the adrenaline kicks in, I will be as competitive as usual despite what has happened to my hand. Knockhill is a tight and twisty circuit and that means you need a strong chassis, which is certainly one of the strong points of our Civic," he commented.

"We have worked hard on the handling of the car all season and we knew it would reap rewards when we get to demanding circuits like this one. Three strong results at Knockhill would launch me right back into the heart of the title fight."
