Honda sales soaring across Europe

After an overhaul of its line up, Honda has had a brilliant first quarter in 2016, making it one of the fastest growing mainstream car brands in Europe.

Honda’s recorded sales totalled 49,836 across Europe, which is up 28.1% from the same period in 2015. Reasons for this leap in sales include the re-release of the HR-V, of which 9,631 were sold. Additionally, sales of the Honda Jazz supermini rose 9.3%, compared to the last year’s new registrations of the vehicle. The five main car markets in Europe (Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy and France) all saw a marked increase in Honda sales. Italy, in particular, saw an astonishing 108% increase in Honda registrations.

Jean-Marc Streng, General Manager Automobile Division of Honda Motor Europe, commented, “This excellent start to the year is testament to how well our new range has met the needs and desires of customers. What is even more encouraging is the high level of demand from customers new to the Honda brand.”
