Honda previews new Civic range

The all-new Honda Civic has made its world debut at the New York International Auto Show.

Featuring new technologies such as a multi-information display and Eco Assist, the line-up includes Sedan, Coupe, Si Coupe and Hybrid models.

All of the vehicles will sport better fuel economies when they go on sale in 2012, with the Hybrid model capable of achieving 44mpg and boasting a lithium-ion battery - a first for a Honda car.

John Mendel of Honda commented: "The all-new Civic builds on the popularity of the previous generation with a complete technology makeover, higher level of refinement and style while improving its position as an excellent value car."

He added that the Civic will offer motorists "most diverse model line-up" on the market when it goes on sale in 2012.
