Honda Civic estate announced

Honda has confirmed that a Civic estate will be shown, at least in a concept form, sometime in 2013.

The message was delivered by none other than Honda's European president, Manabu Nishimae, which should clarify that the vehicle will be available to view in some shape or form over the next 14 months.

Although Mr Nishimae did not reveal just when motoring fans can expect to see the concept car for themselves, suggestions have been made that either the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013 or the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013 appear most likely.

Until then, there is little information known about the Honda Civic estate, besides a shadowy teaser image showcasing a curved chassis and sleek window designs.

On top of this, Honda has stated that the estate will certainly add extra versatility to a range that already includes expansive boot space.

For instance, the Honda Civic hatch comes complete with a 477-litre boot, which is significantly more than the Focus hatchback (316 litres of space) and a fraction above the Focus Estate's boot space (476 litres).
